What matters in this role

  • Ticket volume and the tier you work at. “45 tickets a week, second line” sizes your experience in one line.
  • The systems you administer rather than merely use. Administering Entra ID is not the same as having an account in it.
  • Certifications, with dates. They are often the filter that produces the shortlist.
  • Evidence you reduce tickets rather than just close them.

Common mistakes

  • Listing every technology ever touched, which invites a question you cannot answer.
  • No numbers, so six years reads like six months.
  • Leaving out the escalation tier, which is the first thing a service desk manager looks for.
  • Burying certifications on page two.
