What matters in this role

  • How many people you support and at what level. Supporting a partner is different from supporting a team of six.
  • The systems you own, named. Someone is trying to work out how much training you will need.
  • Volume: diaries managed, invoices processed, meetings coordinated.
  • Anything you improved rather than merely maintained.

Common mistakes

  • A list of duties identical to every other administrator.
  • No numbers, when this role is full of countable things.
  • Leaving out software, which is the fastest filter applied.
  • Underselling autonomy. “Sole administrator” is a strong phrase if it is true.
