What matters in this role

  • Which channels you own, and the budget attached. It is the clearest signal of seniority in marketing.
  • Results with a before and after. A single figure without a baseline says nothing.
  • Whether you worked in-house or agency, and B2B or B2C. These are different jobs.
  • Tools, but underneath the results rather than instead of them.

Common mistakes

  • A skills section of twenty platform logos and no outcomes.
  • Claiming channel results when you were one of six people on the account.
  • Vanity metrics — impressions and follower counts — with no commercial figure behind them.
  • Not saying what the company sells, which makes every number unreadable.
